We are pleased to make the First Call for Papers for the technical sessions at the 2018 Dredging Summit and Expo, the premiere venue to discuss the science, engineering and practice of dredging. Interested authors are invited to submit one-page abstracts (less than 400 words along with a descriptive title and author(s) contact information). The deadline to submit abstracts is January 15, 2018. All abstracts are to be submitted via email to

The theme for this year’s conference is “Navigating a Future in Dredging“, which will focus on dredging presentations with an emphasis on research, technology development, and pilot-scale projects within academia, government, and industry. Speakers are encouraged to provide presentations that highlight the application of the work’s findings to future logistical, technical, and economic constraints and regulatory requirements within the dredging environment. This year’s conference location in Norfolk, Virginia also provides an opportunity to highlight naval projects and Chesapeake Bay related topics.

The Technical Papers Committee will review all abstracts and notify authors of acceptance and provide final manuscript instructions for production of the Dredging Summit & Expo ’18 proceedings. Submission and acceptance of an abstract means that one or more of the authors MUST register, pay registration fees, attend the 2018 Dredging Summit & Expo, and give the presentation in English.
