SPEAKER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Please bring presentations to the WEDA Speaker Ready Booth #84 in the Foyer of the Main Ballroom on the 4th floor. Click here for location.

Time (Presentation – 15 minutes, Questions – 5 minutes)

Questions from the audience will follow each presentation (5 minutes). It is important to stay within the time limit so that other presenters will have an equal opportunity to present their papers and have time for answering questions. Presenters should practice their presentation to ensure that it can be completed within the 15-minute time limit. The moderator is instructed to notify speakers when 10 and 5 minutes remains for speaking. Bright colors are recommended on slides and remember that pale shades are not visible. The WEDA staff will copy the PPT presentations from the laptop to a memory stick at the end of each session. The PPT presentations will be converted to Adobe format and made available on WEDA web site with permission of the speaker/authors. Show some enthusiasm in your presentation. Please do not read slides verbatim during your presentation.

Presentation Equipment (Computer Projector)

Each presentation room will be equipped with one laptop computer that will be connected to the computer projection equipment. The laptops will have the Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems and the Office 2010, Adobe, and windows media player software installed. Use of Microsoft Power Point presentation software is required. No other presentation equipment will be available. A combination slide advancer /laser pointer and microphone will be available at the podium. Ensure your slides are readable in a large room.

A speaker ready booth #84 will be set up at the conference. Please bring your presentation to the ready booth prior to your presentation on a CD or flash drive. If no one is in the speaker ready booth, please check with the WEDA registration desk staff for assistance. For morning sessions, please stop in the day before, for afternoon presentation before lunch of that day. The staff will check that your presentation works on our equipment, including video (which generally needs to be located with the presentation on disk). The staff will then take a copy. All presentations will be loaded on the desktop of the presentation room laptop prior to the start of the session presentations by the WEDA staff.

Additional Requirements

Please come to the session presentation room 10 minutes before the session begins, and bring a backup file of the presentation. Meet the session moderator and check again that the presentation file(s) are working properly on the session laptop. Please don’t use excessive advertising, although a small company/organization logo is suggested, along with “WEDA SUMMIT & EXPO ‘18” in the footer of each slide.
